We exist to change the odds on your success.
What makes Women on Boards unique is the personal support we offer our members to get into the boardroom - whether it is your first eve non-executive role, a step up to more competitive paid roles or a final position to complete your portfolio. You are in the driving seat but we know targeted interventions at key points along the way can make all the difference - so we offer them.
We offer Board CV Support and Pre-Interview Connections
Board CV Support
Writing a non-executive CV that does you justice takes time and requires insight into what board members actually do. We will help. We can't write it for you, but we offer a range of guidance to enable you to draw out your board relevant skills and articulate them succinctly in the format recruiters want to see.
“NED CV’s matter. They are not career bios. No, you will not get recruited purely on your CV...It is the interview that really matters but the NED CV can be the enabler.” Paul Drechsler CBE
- Our Building a Board CV online course - This interactive e-learning walks you through creating your Board CV. It is included in our Full Membership, or available to purchase separately.
- A 1-on-1 Board CV Review - Submit your draft Board CV for honest and constructive feedback from one of our team of CV reviewers. They are all experienced NEDs who have been involved in board recruitment to enable them to bring a ‘real-world’ perspective to your document. This Review can be purchased (discounted price for Full Members), or is included in our Board CV Masterclass (below).
“Your approach was so interesting and new to me. Usually working on my CV is a chore I avoid but you inspired me.”
- Board CV Masterclass - An in-depth, highly practical session for those targeting the more competitive roles. You will work with your peers to identify and articulate your unique value-add to the boardroom. Includes a follow up 1-on-1 Review. The Masterclass’ price is discounted for full members.

When you get an interview for a board role, good preparation is key. We offer our Full Members a 1-on-1 phone conversation to run through the issues which may come up and how to present your skills and experience.
Our ability to make the right connection for you when you get a board interview is a key part of Women on Boards' "secret sauce". Our network includes people on boards in every type of sector, so we will do our very best to connect you with a non-executive with similar experience. Whether you have an interview for an academy or college; an NHS Trust; a public body like the Environment Agency, Ofgem or Kew Gardens; an AIM or FTSE listed board; or a charity, we can help ensure you understand the strategic issues in the sector and help you put your best foot forward on the day.
Our 1-on-1 Pre-interview support is available to our Full Members only for capacity reasons. We offer pre-interview support for each and every board interview secured. We ask for as much notice as possible to arrange a mutually convenient time, but are usually able to arrange support even for last-minute interviews. Do let us know your timescales when requesting your pre-interview support.
Full Members only: to arrange your call, simply get in touch here (email@example.com).

"Thank you so much for your help earlier this week, it really was so helpful and reassuring to talk to you. The interview went really well and I have already been offered the role of Trustee. Thank you so much for your help."
"Thank you for taking the time to chat with me about the interview - my confidence was low after a bad recruiter interview experience last year and the worry of turning up heavily pregnant for an interview and it made such a difference and really made me feel positive about the interview so thank you!"
