Getting Board Ready

We all need access to good resources in our professional lives.  It's no different when you are seeking to add a board role to your career plan. This section of our Resource Centre is designed for those of you who are learning about what goes on in the boardroom and planning for your first - or first serious - board role.

We also have two other sections for different career stages:

  1. Career & Leadership - for those of you who are still active in your executive  career and interested in learning about what goes on in the boardroom - and why you should be thinking about board and committee roles sooner rather than later
  2. In the Boardroom - for active board directors seeking to keep up to date with the latest governance developments from legislation and news to research and leading edge ideas

These articles and reports are designed to support you in your journey to the boardroom.  They provide key strategic insights along with useful tips and information on getting to and operating in the boardroom.

Reference Materials

This section provides links to a variety of reference materials for non executive directors, trustees and school governors across all sectors, sourced from the Institute of Directors, the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators, the Financial Reporting Council, the Charity Commission (England & Wales)  and OSCR (Scotland) amongst others.
