WOB Information Evenings are designed as a taster for those of you who haven’t attended a WOB event before.  These events are a great way to gain an idea of what Women on Boards does and how we can help you - wherever you are in your boardroom journey.

Getting Started – Realising your board potential    

Getting Started is a half-day workshop designed for people considering their first board role or seeking to add a new non-executive role to their portfolio.  It is a fast-paced tour through everything you need to know about directorship and how to do yourself justice as a candidate, along with strategies for including board work in your career – whether you are 25 or 65. And don't be fooled by the name, this workshop is not just for beginners. It will provide valuable insights and inspiration even if you have already sat on several boards.

The webinar version is called Directors at a Distance and runs over 2 lunch-hour slots.

Boardroom Insights

WOB Boardroom Insight events are designed to inform and inspire, whilst providing you with new connections. Come along to learn about the opportunities on boards in a sector you haven't previously considered, or for in-depth insights from current non-executives in an area you are targeting.  These evening events are also great opportunities to broaden your networks, regardless of where your board aspirations lie.

If you believe that you can realistically target FTSE listed company boards, we run FTSE NED breakfasts for anyone in this group. In the spirit of WOB as an open netwwork, we let you decide if you are in this cohort.

to polish your skills - WOB Masterclasses

Board CV Masterclass

The WOB Board CV Masterclass focuses on developing a high quality, board-ready CV; something you will need to get you onto the long-list and ultimately to an interview for competitive NED roles in the private and public sectors.

Impact and Influence Masterclass

We have two versions of our popular Impact and Influence Masterclass:

  1. Communicating with Confidence is targeted at women moving into senior leadership who want to develop their personal brand and impact
  2. Building Boardroom Presence is designed for women at board level or about to take on their first board role whose focus is impact and effectiveness in the boardroom. 

These are both highly interactive workshops that will increase your ability to communicate effectively and with confidence, an essential career and boardroom skill.  They are led by a former BBC presenter and experienced executive-level coach.

for serving directors - networking


For those of you who are already serving on one or more boards, this series of events aims to tackle some common themes and topics you might be having to deal with. They will be informal, smaller occasions (maximum 25 people per event) over a meal, which will allow a freeflow of discussion, sharing of ideas and of course networking. Each evening will have a guest speaker to introduce the topic and be there to answer any questions you may have, but predominantly we hope they will be good opportunities to network and support you in your board activities.

Networking for NEDs

These sessions are for non-executive directors who are serving on one or more boards and would like to meet others who are serving on boards within the same sector. They are morning meetings, before the working day, where you can meet and share experiences, best practises and network.
