Join us in London for this half day masterclass, The Board CV Masterclass is a transformational step in many boardroom journeys.

It is a must for those targeting more competitive boards who may either need to explain a non-linear career or to differentiate their experience as a unique proposition.

This is about crafting a CV that accurately reflects the experience and capabilities you will bring to the boardroom.  We show you how to position yourself to demonstrate that you are board ready, even if you have not yet had experience as a board member.

The Masterclass is highly practical and limited to 15 participants. There will also be tasks to consider prior to the session.

The final element of the Masterclass is the 1-on-1 follow-up, after you have reflected on the content and put your draft Board CV together. This personalised feedback on how well you have articulated your board relevant capabilities has proved invaluable for many participants in ensuring they ended up with a CV that does justice to their board potential and gets them to the interview.

“For me, the absolute game changing moment was going to the Board CV masterclass.” Anne Spackman, former Executive Director at Times Newspapers and portfolio NED

“Thank you for all your help. My completely re-written CV following the masterclass was a critical factor in my success I know.”

"It was energising to meet so many talented women in the same [virtual] “room”... I found it hugely beneficial to see how the language differs from that of executive CVs.  I am looking forward to putting what I have learnt into action!" Heidi, Senior Counsel at a FTSE company

In this Masterclass, we focus on you - helping you to unpack the unique range of skills you bring. We also explain what really goes on in the boardroom so that you can judge which parts of your experience are most valuable as a non-executive.

You will learn about the language and structure recruiters want to see in a CV document, but we also share how to use your ‘pitch’ in conversation and on LinkedIn. All this ensures you are pitching yourself at the right level and packaging the information succinctly.

This in-person Masterclass is limited to just 15 attendees and includes:

  • The structure, length and language of a Board CV
  • How to demonstrate you can operate at director level
  • Understanding your board capabilities, transferable skills and points of difference
  • Some important do's and dont's
  • Applying the concepts to write your new capability-based Board CV
  • Linking your value-add to target roles and sectors
  • Showcasing your offer in cover letters and your LinkedIn profile
  • 1-on-1 feedback on your finalised Board CV (at a time of mutual convenience)

Follow-up support: The price includes a 30-minute 1-on1 Board CV review. This will be arranged at a time of mutual convenience once you have prepared your draft Board CV.

Pre-requisites: If you are completely new to the boardroom, we recommend that you attend our Get on Board workshop before you attend this Masterclass.

Comments from past attendees:

"Insightful course which breaks down the key components needed for a good CV which is practical, interactive and brings out natural flair and abilities"

"Useful, fast paced, topical & insightful information delivered with good humour & gravitas."

"I appreciated the 'safe' environment to share background/experience and receive constructive feedback and practical suggestions on how to improve presentation of skills."

"The conundrum when plumping for 'self-help' counsel is whether it will be worth the time and money. As always with Women on Boards, it was. The size of the group was small enough to be personal but large enough to provide variety...Alison astutely gauged my needs and her follow-up counsel hit the mark precisely."
