University Governing Bodies

The governing bodies of Australia's 41 universities. Members are usually elected from staff, students and alumni, though some members are appointed by the government and there are independent directors. The sector is characterised by large numbers on their governing bodies.

2020

The University sector lifted its game significantly between 2016 and 2020, with a 10.8% increase in the number of women on the governing bodies - up from 37.2% to 48.05%.
