RDA Committees

Regional Development Australia (RDA) is a nation-wide Federal Government program working to support regional development through a network of 50+ regional committees.

2020

The overall percentage of women serving on the 52 RDAs measured in the 2020 BDI was 38.7%. However there are 11 with fewer than 30% female directors: RDA QLD Central and Western Queensland, RDA SA Barossa, RDA SA Adelaide Metropolitan, RDA NSW Far West, RDA NSW Orana, RDA NSW Northern Inland, RDA NT Northern Territory, RDA NSW Central Coast, RDA VIC Grampians, RDA QLD Moreton Bay, RDA NSW Murray, RDA SA Murraylands & Riverland.

On RDA Committee's women accounted for 36.7% of board positions, with 1 entitiy failing to have a female on their board. Board gender diversity in this sector is broadly poor, with over half of committees having less than 40% female directors and some committees with below 20% female directors. Futhermore, 2018 data suggested female representation on boards has decreased by 0.2%.
