ASX200

Board composition of the 200 largest stocks by market capitalisation in Australia. In 2020 this list was provided by Watermark Search in mid January. In general the ASX continues to improve until you go past the ASX200, when gender balance starts to fall off a cliff.

2020

This sector has seen a 7.4% increase in the percentage of women on boards since 2016. As of January 2020, the ASX200 had 30% female representation on boards, despite the following companies still stubbornly maintaining their status as a male only zone: Centuria  REIT, Centuria Metro REIT, Freedom Foods Group, Isignthis Limited, Mount Gibson Iron, NRW Holdings Limited, Polynovo Limited, Pro Medicus Limited, Silver Lake Resources, TPG Telecom Limited.

2018

Of the 200 companies reviewed 30 entities had 40% or more board positions held by women. However, it is dissapointing to note that 10 companies do not have a woman on their board. On the other hand it is interesting that in 2018 the ASX200 documented a 12.2% increase in the total number of female board members. Comparitavely, the ASX100 saw minimal growth of 4%.
