ASX100

Board composition of the 100 largest stocks by market capitalisation in Australia. In 2020 this list was provided by Watermark Search in mid January. In general the ASX continues to improve until you go past the ASX200, when gender balance starts to fall off a cliff.

2020

TPG remains the outlier in the ASX100 in that it is the only stock without a woman on the board. Other companies with fewer than 20% female directors included: AMP, Brambles, Evolution Mining, Saracen Mineral, IDP Education,  Magellan Financial, Rio Tinto, Soul Pattinson, QUBE Holdings, Amcor Plc, Harvey Norman and Cimic Group.

2018

Of the top 100 listed companies reviewed 29.3% of board positions are held by women with 17 companies reaching the 40% gender diversity target. It was disappointing to note one company failed to have female board representation. Gradual improvements have been documented, however, females continue to be under-represented in ASX100 boards.
