WOB is inviting female NFP board members to apply for the full program scholarships which are being offered courtesy of with public accounting, tax and advisory firm BDO Australia.
The scholarships will give two women a place on WOB’s new interactive workshop series ESG: Opportunities and Risks for Boards, which is being run in collaboration with Directors Australia and BDO.
The six-week program will look at the basics of ESG and what you should know to fulfil your duties as a director. It will be presented by Directors Australia board and governance specialist Jane Crombie and BDO’s Aletta Boshoff and Ashley Bleeker. It will cover:
- The meaning of ESG
- Why ESG matters for all boards
- How ESG creates value
- Stakeholder expectations
- Regulatory change
- Activism and litigation
- Competition for capital

Module 1 | The core elements of ESG | 18 March 2022
Module 2 | Applying a framework to ESG reporting | 1 April 2022
Module 3 | Stakeholder engagement in the ESG process | 8 April 2022
Module 4 | Measure to manage sustainability reporting | 22 April 2022
Module 5 | Pulling it all together: Delivering your ESG report | 6 May 2022
Module 6 | Panel session | 20 May 2022
Modules will be held Fridays from 12.30 pm - 1.45 pm AEDT/AEST (NSW time)
How to apply
To apply for the scholarship send a cover email, short video and current CV to angela@womenonboards.org.au
Your short video (one-two minutes) should include:
- An introduction (Include your name, where you reside (country, state), your current role, and NFP board you are currently serving on)
- How you would seek to benefit from the program
- Confirmation that you can attend the six (6) online sessions
- An outline of your financial needs.
