Women on Boards is delighted to announce the appointment of innovation and digital transformation executive and Women on Boards member, Susan Wheeldon-Steele, to the board of ASX listed, Centuria Capital (CNI).

Ruth Medd, Executive chair of Women on Boards, who assisted Centuria in the search for a new Non-Executive-Director, said Wheeldon-Steele’s formidable and diverse skill would bring a new and important set of expertise to the board. Wheeldon-Steele is the first woman to be appointed to the board of the ASX specialist investment manager.

Wheeldon-Steele is the Head of Sales for Google, having previously held senior roles in Australia and the UK across a diverse range of industries including global law firms DLA Piper and King & Wood Mallesons, Virgin Australia & Virgin Atlantic, AMP Capital and Groupon.

She has been a member of Women on Boards for some years and completed a range of programs where she came to the attention of WOB principals.

However, Ruth Medd said the new search algorithm being utilised on the WOB website, had also put Wheeldon-Steele into the short list of candidates requested by Centuria Chair, Garry Charny.

“WOB offers some very attractive options for companies seeking female Non-Executive-Directors – ranging from complimentary vacancy posting through to short-listing and search at www.womenonboards.net/en-AU/Board-Positions/Post-New-Board,” Medd said.

Wheeldon-Steele, said she was delighted with her appointment to the board.

“I am thrilled to be joining a board and company that has such strong foundations and deep industry expertise, combined with a genuine enthusiasm for change to future proof the business and drive aggressive growth.”

Centuria chair Garry Charny said: "We are delighted to have someone of Susan's calibre and unique skill set, particularly in the digital space, to join the Board at a time of major growth for the Company. She is a step towards the future."
