It was a red letter day for WOB and Sara – who is the second graduate of the prestigious WOBSX program to achieve ASX success. Leanne Heywood, who achieved recent ASX success on Quickstep and Midway was the first. Both were members of the same syndicate under the guidance of the tough and experienced chair, Jon Brett.
WOB founders, Claire Braund and Ruth Medd, congratulated Sara on her hard work, tenacity and commitment to achieving an ASX board role less than six months after graduating from the WOBSX program.
“It takes a lot of determination, cups of coffee and worn out shoe leather to achieve your first ASX board role,” Braund and Medd said.
“We are delighted that Sara has been appointed to Syrah and look forward to seeing her in the AGM announcements of ASX companies in the future.”

Braund and Medd, who have grown WOB from a start-up in 2005 to in international company, also paid tribute to Jon Brett, who is now chairing his second syndicate and working extremely hard to further our shared goal of increasing the number of women on ASX Boards.
“The program has created very strong cohorts of highly experienced and skilled women who support each other to achieve ASX roles. We are hopeful their collegiate approach will yield even more roles in years to come.”
