Special Intelligence Operative, Sheeja Panicker, reached out to Women on Boards, looking for a leadership program that would help her overcome her lack of trust in her abilities and help her to move forwards.
“I was looking for a program for women, run by women,” said Sheeja, who signed up for the Women in Leadership 2020/21 virtual program which has now been relaunched as WOB’s Personal Career Management - a hybrid extension of the WIL program.
“The program empowered me to tap into my potential. I was able to find my voice and refocus on what I am looking for. It helps build your confidence to back yourself.”
Claire Braund talks about the program
Women on Boards co-founder and Executive Director, Claire Braund, said the practical, strategic and well-resourced Personal Career Management program is the perfect opportunity women like Sheeja to develop their understanding around what counts in managing their career from a strategic perspective.
“It’s also about how to exercise influence and why you need self-awareness and clarity around your career narrative. It supports you to dig deep to align your passion and purpose with your career plan.”
A chance to build capacity in the areas of leadership, communication and influencing, the program is also aimed at senior and executive leaders seeking to understand how to plan their way to board and committee roles.
Sheeja said networking and learning from like-minded women were other bonuses of the program. “The moderators were genuinely interested in helping you out and working with like-minded women puts you at ease.”
Offered as a hybrid program, consisting of one day face-to-face and four virtual sessions plus a personal mentoring session, the Personal Career Management is highly interactive and features a suite of templates, tools and approaches that can be applied wherever you are on your career journey.
"The personal mentoring session is a key element of the program that really underpins participants' success and helps them pull it all together,” said Claire.
NOTE: If you are unable to attend the face to face session, it's also offered virtually, where we will have a blend of face to face and online participants.
