Flexibility in the workplace and regional opportunities for board members were just two of the topics up for discussion at the latest WOBMeet for our Hunter and Central Coast members.
WOB Executive Director Claire Braund, Business and Events Manager Angela Bowen and Digital Content Manager Geraldine Cardozo hosted the intimate networking event at newly-opened cocktail bar, The Gilded Anchor in Forrester’s Beach.
“The informal get-together was a great opportunity for our members on the Central Coast and surrounding areas to get to know each other, ask questions and share their experiences of serving on boards,” said Claire, who also shared her own story with the attendees.
“We discussed purpose, why people serve on boards and what opportunities there are on the Coast and in regional areas more generally,” added Claire. “This led to a chat around flexibility in the workplace and what can really be done to help women progress in their career and board roles.”
The next Hunter/Central Coast WOBMeet is on Thursday 27 October at Gosford Sailing Club, 5pm-7pm.
