Leanne has 21 reasons to celebrate

4/03/2019
Long term WOB subscriber, Leanne Heywood, has celebrated her graduation from our boutique WOBSX program in 2018 with two new ASX roles.

On Friday 1 March, Leanne was officially able to announce her appointment onto the board of Midway (ASX: MWY), a wood pulp processor and exporter. This was barely three weeks after she was announced as a non-executive-director of Quickstep (ASX: QHL), a manufacturer of advanced carbon composites. Leanne is also a NED of lithium miner, Orocobre and the Australian Meat Processor Corporation.

Program Director, Dan Liszka, congratulated Leanne and said of all the 2018 graduates she was brilliant in her dedication to the 21+ specific actions our WOBSX program promotes to aspiring directors seeking a role on an ASX or equivalent board (eg, a well paid large private company). Some of these type are very practical, some just require energy and getting out and about, some need a bit of class and smarts.

However, all these activities are very doable for anyone with corporate and governance experience and the will to make the jump to a portfolio career.

"With our first graduate securing two roles, we know that there have been significant learnings from the program thus far and future programs will only build on this knowledge base and networks."

WOB is currently accepting applications for WOBSX syndicates in Sydney and Melbourne - with just two positions remaining for the soon-to-commence 'Rosalind Dubbs Syndicate' in Sydney.
