Does your board need help meeting goals?

How do you know if your board and organisation is meeting goals and making progress?Join specialist Fi Mercer from Governance Evaluator as she shares critical lessons and key insights into effective governance in a free Women on Boards webinar.

Good governance recommends boards evaluate their performance on a biannual basis. For many boards, particularly those in the not-for-profit sector, this can become expensive and is not done.

Over the years, Women on Boards members appointed to a range of boards have privately confessed it was not what they expected and a board review was urgently needed.

Performance evaluations are a key means of determining whether your board and your organisation are meeting goals and making progress. Board evaluations are designed to:

  • Identify gaps and improve the performance of directors.

  • Hold the board accountable for its performance through improved transparency.

  • Add credibility to board decision-making.

  • Offer an opportunity to communicate objectively.

  • Highlight the strengths and weaknesses of both individual directors and the director collective.

Governance specialist and entrepreneur Fi Mercer has an invaluable understanding and experience of what really makes boards successful.

Fi is the founder and CEO of Governance Evaluator, an online governance evaluation service for boards seeking to improve their performance.

The service is generic for boards across the majority of sectors, but additional specialist modules have been developed for the healthcare, finance and community sectors.

On 20 July, Fi will be sharing critical lessons and key insights into effective governance with Women on Boards members in this free webinar on the Importance of Organisation Wide Governance.

During the webinar, Fi will discuss:

  • The importance of evaluation as a critical first step to enable effective prioritisation of issues

  • How the process of evaluation takes directors and boards from a fraught position of “don’t know what we don’t know”, to the empowering position of “knowing what we don’t know”

  • How to effectively target individual and collective governance capability gaps with the right information and support.

Fi will also provide insight into the Governance Evaluator platform. Women on Boards members have access to the Governance Evaluator at special member rates.
