WOB Executive Director Claire Braund and Governance Institute CEO Megan Motto welcomed the partnership as being mutually beneficial for both organisations and one that reflected the shared values of gender equity in board and leadership roles across business, government and community sector organisations.
Ms Braund said that Women on Boards had been highly effective in achieving greater gender balance in Australian boardrooms and its members would benefit from the high quality training courses being provided by GIA as part of the partnership.
“We know there are improvements to gender balance being made in the boardrooms of many organisations but there is still some way to go,” Ms Motto said. "Improving the overall governance of organisations plays a key role in diversifying the boardroom - and women who serve on boards needs the tools to be effective."
"Women on Boards is offering a range of key GIA directorship courses to members at a discounted rate. These courses are perfect for those keen wishing to boost their skills in governance, risk and compliance. Participants in the courses will receive associated CPD hours," Ms Motto said.
