WOBChat is an interactive fortnightly online session designed to fill the current void. We’ll provide a facilitated, friendly environment for members to meet, network, share and learn - online.
It will be a relaxed and informal session with an agile agenda around the following:
- meet others in the network (with attendee details provided post WOBChat for you to follow up);
- ask questions;
- practice your pitch (& get feedback);
- get comfortable with your virtual presentation;
- we’ll discuss topical issues driven by attendees around governance, the impacts of COVID-19 and board journeys;
- meet special guests;
- build your confidence; and
- meet new members in other states.

Authors of The Joy of Money: The Australian Woman's Guide to Financial Independence
Kate co-founded her independent financial advice firm, Multiforte Financial Services in 2007 where she is a Director and Adviser today. She has spent most of her 25-year plus career in the world of investments and superannuation, having held executive roles with leading financial services firms. Kate is often asked to speak at conferences and to contribute to money matters for the media.
Kate has a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Commerce, and post-graduate qualifications in Applied Finance & Investment and in Financial Planning. She is Chair of FINSIA's NSW Council and National Chair of the Association of Financial Advisers'(AFA) Inspire women's community. Kate won the AFA Female Excellence in Advice Award and her business, Multiforte, was a top three finalist in the AFA's national award for Practice of the Year in 2018.
Julia has a passion for writing, equality, theatre, seventies music, film and finance. With an academic background in economics and practical experience in journalism, she has contributed and led editorial and content teams for financial services publications and Top 20 ASX listed companies for the past 20 years. She is currently finds an outlet editor-at-large for Money Magazine.
In 2013, driven by a desire to see greater inroads in financial independence for women, Julia established and managed the Stella Network, an initiative supported by BT Finance to support women in financial planning. Julia is an Advisory Board Member for 1Million Women and a Member of the University of Sydney Alumni Council. From 2016 to 2018, Julia served as Treasurer for Women in Theatre and Screen (WITS) and was a Women of Westpac - Global Trends Committee member.
