WOBChat is an interactive fortnightly online session usually for WOB members, but occasionally for the wider network. It's a facilitated, friendly environment for members to meet, network, share and learn - online.
It will be a relaxed and informal session with an agile agenda around the following:
- meet others in the network (with attendee details provided post WOBChat for you to follow up);
- ask questions;
- meet special guests; and
- meet new members in other states.
This event is provided FREE OF CHARGE to Full, Corporate, Global Members and Champions.
Clinical Governance (for non clinicians)
The Royal Commission into Aged Care has made it clear that Non-Executive Directors and Boards have clear duties and accountabilities for clinical quality and safety.
In the same way that basic financial literacy is required by all NEDs, basic clinical governance literacy is a requirement if you are a NED of an organisation that provides health, aged care or community care services.
Join this webinar to discuss what this means for non-clinician NEDs of health, aged care and community care organisations.
Guest speaker: Dr Julie-ann Phillips
Julie trained and worked clinically as a pharmacist and then as a doctor, in emergency medicine and occupational medicine before a 10-year career as a senior health executive with an ASX Top100 company. She is now building a portfolio career providing consulting services to organisations to right-size their clinical governance to their clinical risk appetite, teaching/facilitating health leadership and clinical governance courses and non-executive committee and board appointments.
Julie has postgraduate qualifications in occupational medicine, health management, has trained in Design Thinking and health innovation at Stanford University, California and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She is currently an Independent Expert Clinical Governance Adviser to the Beyond Blue Clinical Governance Committee, the UnitingCare QLD Quality and Care Governance Committee and the Uniting NSWACT Care and Safety Committee. Julie is driven to ensure the voice of the health care consumer and clinicians is heard at all levels of organisations and considered in all key decisions. She also enjoys mentoring young health professionals who are exploring alternative careers in health beyond clinical practice.
Outside of work she has resided and worked in the Inner West of Sydney for 25 years and coaches and plays hockey for Glebe District Hockey Club.
