Join us for this special one-off event as members of the NSW syndicates from our 2018 Next Generation of Female Leaders' program share what they have learnt from interviewing Australia's leading CEOs and company directors.
Next Gen is a high level learning and development program for women in management and senior roles. It increases the visibility of women within their organisations and industries and provides them with the confidence and capacity to successfully engage with senior leadership and boards. 
A key aspect of the program is 'Project Getting Ahead' which requires participants to work in syndicates to interview a minimum of two leaders from any sector and work this into their presentation at the end of the program. The insights gained are invaluable and make for a great and interactive event.

Format for Leadership in Focus

Members of the program alumni will lead us into the evening, sharing experiences, learnings and key takeaways from their exchange with leaders.

These introductory presentations will be followed by a guided panel discussion with the directors that have been interviewed as part of the program to discuss leadership on a grander scale. The session will be facilitated by Claire Braund, Executive Director at Women on Boards and then discussion opened to the floor.

Come prepared with questions and comments for the panel and ready to engage with the WOB network to make some great personal and business connections.

Next Gen Syndicate Advisors - NSW

Marcella Lazarus

Marcella has over 20 years of experience in senior leadership and coaching roles in Australia and Europe working in a wide range of sectors and industries including government and not for profit. Marcella specializes in coaching leaders and boards through volatile and complex organizational transformations. She has successfully designed and facilitated a range of programs from executive strategic planning sessions to change leadership and career planning coaching programs.
Before establishing her own company, Growing Organisations Pty Ltd, Marcella held a Director role in the not-for-profit sector and Head of HR role in an iconic Australian medical device company. These roles involved successfully leading teams through significant change programs.

Marg Lennon

Marg is an accomplished Chair and board director on larger, commercial NFP boards. She is a member of Governance and Nominations sub committees and Executive experience on Remuneration and Risk committees. Marg is an expert in the areas of People, Culture and Change Management, who has maximised her significant HR executive experience to add considerable value to her current board positions. She is an experienced Human Resources Senior Executive in a global ASX100 company. 
Marg is current owner and operator of a successful SME as an Executive Coach and mentor and in the development of Organisational Capability in a wide variety of industries. She holds a Masters of Organisational Coaching and is AICD qualified.

Gillian McFee

Gillian brings a unique mix of leadership, strategic and change management skills developed in human services to assist boards and executives embrace change and disruption of their business models. 
Following senior executive and CEO roles involving substantial transformational change in complex, highly regulated environments with multiple stakeholders, Gillian has established a successful "encore career." She collaborates with people and organisations to share her experience, networks and strategic insights to mentor and challenge them in designing and executing great strategy.
Following an interim role with one of Australia's largest mutuals, NRMA Motoring and Services, Gillian immersed herself in understanding the benefits of co-operatives and mutuals. Invited by the Business Council of Co-operatives and Mutuals to chair its Public Service Mutuals Task Force, Gillian is one of only a few expert advisers in Australia on how member-owned organisations can achieve economic and community outcomes with improved productivity from increased customer and workforce engagement.

About the Next Generation of Female Leaders' Program 

Next Gen is WOB's flagship leadership program, providing high-level learning and development for women in key management roles. The program aims to increase the visibility of high potential women within their organisations and industries and provides them with the confidence and capacity to successfully engage with senior leadership and boards. During the course of the program the groups spoke to leaders from all different walks of life to learn about their experiences and gain some insights and understanding about their leadership journey.
