Women on Boards invites members and their guests to register for a special event on Tuesday 12 March to introduce angel investing and Scale Investors as an avenue for WOB members (particularly those in the Innovation marketplace) to know more about;

  • the benefits of angel investing and supporting female founded companies, and
  • serving on the boards and advisory boards of early stage companies.

Scale Investors is a network of angel investors, who connect with, invest in and mentor female, early stage entrepreneurs and start-ups with gender balanced leadership. Since launching in 2013, its community of over 100 HNW women and men has collectively invested $7.5m in 14 female led businesses.

The program is divided into two sessions:

  • Session One (6:00 - 7:30pm): Setting the scene with Scale CEO, Ariane Barker, on the how and why of investing in a Scale company and the expectations of board members in Scale companies, then three female founders will share their experiences followed by a panel discussion.
  • Session Two  (7:30 - 8:00pm): Table based discussions led by Scale board members and other Non-Executive-Directors of early stage companies.
