Meet freshly minted ASX Director, Leanne Heywood, a recent graduate from our WOBSX program at this subscriber only lunch at Clayton Utz.

Leanne recently secured a directorship with Quickstep Holdings Limited (ASX:QHL)and has credited WOBSX with her success. There are only 30 places at this lunch for WOB subscribers and their guests so be quick if you would like to learn how Leanne has spring boarded her executive career in the mining industry into board roles.

Guest Speaker: Leanne Heywood

MME_Heywood_Leanne.jpgLeanne is an experienced non-executive director and senior executive with broad general management experience gained through an international career in the mining, rural, government and not-for-profit sectors. Her most recent appointment is to Quickstep Holdings Limited (ASX:QHL) and she has two further ASX directorships pending announcement and will make the transition from an executive role to a non-executive director portfolio over the coming months.

In the male dominated industry of mining, Leanne has not only excelled, but has been described as an inspirational leader and colleague. Throughout her career she has refused to allow her gender to limit her, leading with focus, integrity and compassion. She has overcome the isolation of living in rural Australia to create an enviable international career and, through extensive voluntary mentoring, use her experience to empower other women to achieve their personal and professional goals.

She is a Non-Executive Director, Chair of the Audit Committee and member of the Nominations and Remuneration and Related Party committees for Orocobre, an ASX200 Lithium miner with operations in Argentina. She is also a Director and Chair of the Nominations and Remuneration Committee for the Australian Meat Processor Corporation (AMPC) and a member of the New South Wales Council for Women’s Economic Opportunity.

Leanne is a finalist in the 2019 NSW Business Woman of the Year Awards, with the winner to be announced on 7 March.

She manages all this through a weekday commute into Sydney from her home on the sheep farm she runs in partnership with her husband in Central West NSW. Family is important to Leanne and she and her husband are extremely proud of their three wonderful adult children and partners who have built their careers and homes in country NSW. They are also blessed with two beautiful granddaughters.
