Lucy Blake, Managing Associate, Linklaters LLP, has been appointed as a Member of the Board of Directors at Amnesty International UK.

Alina Kessel, President & CEO Team P&G, WPP, has been appointed as a Trustee of Glyndebourne effective from 5 July 2017.

Rebecca Stevenson, Director, Outside the Frame, has been appointed as a Trustee at the Back Up Trust for Spinal Cord Injury. "WOB has massively contributed through a cumulative effect over the last couple of years, through the CV workshops and great networking opportunities, as well as providing a focus and galvanising me to pursue this opportunity."

Lesley Cowley OBE, has been appointed as Non-Executive Chair of Companies House.

Liz Norris, Social Inclusion Coordinator, GreaterSport, has been appointed to the Board of Directors at England Boxing.

Joanna Baldwin, Portfolio NED, has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director at Starcount.

Nemone Wynn-Evans, COO, Sorbus Partners LLP, has joined the board of Hinckley & Rugby Building Society as a Non-Executive Director.

Nicola Gordon, has been appointed as Lay Chairing Member to the Judicial Appointments Board for Scotland. "I am most grateful for your generous support and encouragement not only for this application but particularly in terms of the support sustaining my morale through a series of unsuccessful applications. Your advice was crucial in my successful preparation for the interview process."

Alexandra Beidas, Partner, Linklaters LLP, has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of St Mungo's.

Harini Iyengar, Barrister, 11KBW, has been appointed to the Retention Committee of the Equality and Diversity Committee of the General Council of the Bar.

Lesley Lloyd, Experienced Chair, NED and Marketing Director, The Marketing Centre, has been appointed as Chair of Lancashire Sport, a role she sourced via the WOB Vacancy Board.

Christine Carr, Operational Risk Manager at RBS, has been appointed to the Audit and Risk Committee of the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service."I was pleasantly surprised at the speed and quality of support you provided me with in advance of my Board Committee application and interviews.  To be put in touch with the Chair of the equivalent Committee in England and Wales was unexpected and perfect for my preparation.  I am grateful for all of your advice and counsel and will happily ‘pay it forward’ to support other women in a similar position."

Karen Finlayson, Partner, PwC, has been appointed to the Board of Governors at Sheffield Hallam University.

Essie Russell Butler, Founder, ERB Consulting, has been appointed as Chair of the Ealing 135 Committee. "I consider the WoB course that I attended instrumental in helping me find my way. Thank you. I remain a big supporter of WoB's mission and believe it's a god-send for women in the UK."

Sarah Blunn, Partner and Head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm RPC, has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director on the board of the What Works Centre for Wellbeing. "I am under no illusions as to how fortunate I am succeeding on my first attempt and that is very much down to the WoB team and the support and guidance I received through the Getting Started seminar back in October, the CV feedback and Rowena's very helpful insights."

Clare Hunt, Group Director of Strategy and Communications, Compass Group, has been appointed to the Board of the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust. "Thank you so much for all your help in the process. I found the vacancy on the WOB Vacancy Board and the "Getting Started" workshop I attended gave me some helpful tips on writing my CV."

Marion Ellis, has been appointed to the Shadow Surveying Board at Countrywide Surveying Services. "On a personal level since joining WoB UK I became a school governor at the end of last year and I am now appointed to this Shadow Board – your support and resources have helped me not only gain these positions but also to help me raise my profile to be taken seriously at this level."

Alice Hynes, Director and Higher Education Consultant with APC Futures Ltd, has been appointed to the Architects Registration Board. "Having used Women on Boards to recruit governors when I was a University Clerk, I participated in the 'Getting Started' course and had a one on one conversation with Rowena Ironside as interview preparation. Dee Lehane, has been appointed as an independent NED on the board of ARGO Group International Holdings Ltd, a Bermuda based global insurer, listed in the US.

Samantha Reed, Risk, Compliance and Culture Senior Manager, PwC, has been appointed as a Trustee of Smart Works, Greater Manchester.

Emma Robertson, Reward Director, PwC, has been appointed as a Trustee and Chair of the Elm Grove Kids Club Committee, Manchester.

Maria Ingold, Founder & CEO, mireality, has become a Member of the Industrial Advisory Board at the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering, University of Essex.

Helen Webster, CEO, Aberdeen Life / Head of Product Management UK & Ireland, Aberdeen Asset Management PLC, has been appointed to the Scottish FA's newly established Equality and Diversity Advisory Board (EDAB)."I have been to a number of your events and recently attended a webinar which I found really useful in helping me prepare for the interview I attended for this position.  I feel that the advice I have received across these various events made a big difference and gave me the confidence and skills to be successful in getting a place on this panel, right from adjusting my CV to thinking about the questions they might ask and how I would answer them."

Jane Alexander, has been appointed as an Independent Member of Council of The Royal Veterinary College as well as becoming a member of the Finance and General Purposes Committee. "Thank you for all your help. My completely re-written CV following the masterclass last July was a critical factor in this success, I know."

Rowena Ironside, Chair of WOB UK and NED at Digital Catapult, will Chair the Nesta Open Up Challenge Judging Panel. The Open Up Challenge is a £5 million prize fund designed to stimulate participants to build apps, tools and services that use new open banking APIs to transform how small businesses use financial services.

Helen Pert has been appointed as a Trustee on the Board of Best Beginnings. "I would like to thank you and your team at Women On Boards, especially Fiona Hathorn and Julie Ashworth for your support in my search. Your drive and energy in your work is inspiring, and most importantly you gave me the confidence and 'know how' to be successful."

Sarah Matthew, President of the Global Healthcare Practice at Golin, has been appointed as a Lay Member of NHS Blood and Transplant. "WOB has proven to be the most valuable resource: both in terms of helping me match my skills and experience with the most suitable opportunities and in guiding me through the application process for this position. Romy Murray, Director, White Spider Climbing, has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director on Nomura Europe Holdings and Nomura International plc’s Boards. The support in the WoB CV course in March 2016 really helped as did the support from several WoB members on route.”

Hannah Dickinson, Director of What We Do Matters, has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Relate Mid Yorkshire. "The weekly list of board positions was and is a real inspiration, reading through the skills required I realised that my corporate experience could add real value to a Third Sector board. And I often quote Fiona when encouraging others to take the plunge "Women don't need training, they just need information!"

Fiona Spencer, Owner Fiona Spencer Ltd., has been elected to the Board of Trustees of CIM (The Chartered Institute of Marketing) where she is also Chair of the Appointments & Remuneration Committee. “WOB is such a great resource when developing a portfolio career providing both information and inspiration.”

Julia Possener,  Solicitor (non-practicing) and Founder & Director, JCP Consulting, has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director at Lancashire Care NHS FT. "Having left the main-stream corporate world after nearly twenty years, I have made some really interesting and inspiring contacts through Women on Boards. I was encouraged to have conversations (networking!) with headhunters and chairs to raise my profile and be more proactive in letting the “gatekeepers” know I was interested and competent for a NED role.  I was also encouraged to look at other types of appointments to support my board career and am a lay member of Lancaster University Management School Ethics Committee.  These informal tips were invaluable."

Suzanne King, M&A consultant in the exhibition industry, has been appointed Treasurer of the Women’s Sport Trust after seeing the position advertised on the WOB Vacancy Board . “Attending the Getting Started workshop helped me shape my ideas about the type of role and organisation I thought I could add value to.”

Hannah Woodcock, Senior Legal Counsel, Arrow Global Group plc, has been appointed as a Trustee/Non-Executive Director of n-compass North West Limited.

Jane Mitchell, CA, Aberdeenshire, has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director at ANM Group, commencing January 2017. "Being a member of WOB and seeing the various roles being advertised on a regular basis inspired me to accept a Non-Executive Director role at one of the largest and most progressive farmer-owned Agri-businesses in the UK."

Sally Spencer, Group Talent Director, Carillion plc, has been appointed as a Director and Trustee on the Board of Carillion Pension Plan Trustees Limited as of 1st January 2017.

Ruth Daniels, General Counsel at MBNL, has been appointed as Independent Chair of the Board at Rounders England.  "As well as the fantastic resources and support that WOB provides, the specific event WOB held, regarding becoming a NED of a Sports NGB, was instrumental in me being able to secure my first Chair & sports appointment."

Susan Young, Head of Retail Customer Support, RBS England & Wales, has been appointed as a Trustee of Women in Sport. "Women on Boards has helped me tremendously in my pursuit of a NED position.  I have benefited from many interactions with Women on Boards along the way. These have included attending workshops and events, being connected with industry experts in advance of interviews as well as direct one to one advice on application and interview technique.  I am extremely grateful to Women on Boards and would not have secured this position without them – thank you!"

Tracy Maeter, Managing Director, JP Morgan, has been appointed as Director of WHYY (regional public media corporation), Director of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, and Director of the Central Philadelphia Development Corporation. "I knew it was the right time to get involved in my community and thank you to WoB and Rowena for your insights and coaching in approaching my first not for profit board roles. You were a wonderful catalyst!"

"I am delighted to see WOB growing opportunities for women and making it easy to identify Non-Executive positions."

Lindsay Law, Senior Manager, Strategic Programme Assurance, RBS, has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director on the board of Scottish Women’s Aid."I have been inspired by Women on Boards and the work they are doing to encourage all women to fulfil their potential. This has given me the confidence to seek a second board role, and continue to develop the breadth and depth of my skills as a Director." 

Jane Crombleholme, Head of Executive Education, Alliance Manchester Business School,  has been appointed as Chair at NHS Stockport CCG as well as becoming a Trustee of Coaching Inside and Out. "I had been a member of Women on Boards for a while as I thought it was such an important organisation. However it was only when I started attending events that I realised that I should shout more about the positions I secured so that WOB could see the impact they were having and those women working towards board level positions could see that it is achievable."

Wendy Scott, Director, Institutional Client & Credit Management, RBC Capital Markets has been appointed to the board of Gingerbread.“The Women on Boards website provided the inspiration to find opportunities to use my skills at board level.”

Marian Evans, NED at CFS was appointed Governor at Ysgol Y Dderwen in September and joins FAB Ltd (Federation of Agricultural Brokers ltd) as Non-Executive Director with immediate effect.

Hazel Warwick, Housing and Regeneration Consultant & Chair of Business South has been appointed as a Trustee of Emmaus Hampshire from November 16. "Membership of WOB was useful, as it encouraged me to seek a charity position with more confidence."

Dr Jacqueline Baxter, Lecturer in Public Policy and Management , The Open University Business School , has been appointed as a Trustee of The Fawcett Society."Women on Boards provided some great insights into the wide range of opportunities available along with resources to fill in any gaps knowledge wise."

Judit Seymour (Sogan), Owner, Sogan Consulting, has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director on the joint Audit Committee for the Police and Crime Commissioner and the Chief Constable of Bedfordshire Police. 

Elisabeth Davies, Deputy Chief Executive of Arthritis Care, has been appointed as the Senior Independent Director to the Board of the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman.

Sally Britton, a consultant working on change and responsibility, has been appointed as Chair of Investing for Good, which is a leading social finance intermediary mobilising capital for social good.

Yvette Forrester, Vice President, EMEA Corporate Program Management Office, BNY Mellon, has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Digibridge Community Interest Company. "By regularly receiving WOB emails I was encouraged to not only seek a NED role but also by announcing it encourage others to pursue these opportunities too."

Catherine Scivier, former Chief Operating Officer at the Institute of Cancer Research, London, has been appointed as a Trustee of the National Cancer Research Institute as well as becoming a Trustee of nCompass Northwest. "Before taking on these roles I participated in Women on Boards 'Getting Started' webinar and had a one on one conversation with Fiona Hathorn, both of which were invaluable."

Catherine Wall, Chairman, Signum Technology Ltd, has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee for Greenwood & Coope Ltd.

Claire Singers, Communications Consultant, has been appointed to the Board of IPSO (Independent Press Standards Organisation).

Suzanne Meikle, Vice President, BNY Mellon, has been appointed as Secretary of The Shetland Sheep Society. "WOB encouraged me to 'work out loud' and is the reason that I have shared this achievement. I hope others can see that all our commitments inside and outside of our place of work count towards our development journey."

Dorcas Cumming, Solicitor, has been appointed as a Trustee of English Rural Housing Ltd. "Before accepting this post I attended WOB's workshop "Getting Started: Realising your board potential". This workshop was both useful and encouraging".

Kym Lang, health promotion specialist at pip nutrition, has been appointed as a Trustee of Bowel Cancer UK. "I became a member of Women On Boards before my interview and was able to access many useful articles and resources, and the telephone advice from Rowena was excellent. I have since encouraged several friends to look into becoming a Trustee / NED and to join WOB."

Jenny Willott, former MP and Minister and now Director of Enterprise and Innovation at St Mary's University, Twickenham, has been appointed as a Board Member at The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA).

Meg Munn, Non-Executive Director of the Esh Group and a Governor of Sheffield Hallam University, has been appointed to the Board of Directors at the Phone-paid Services Authority, commencing 1st January 2017, for a three year term. "The 1-1 support for interview was excellent. It was really helpful to talk to a non-exc of a similar organisation. She really took the time to read about the role and gave me considered advice. Understanding the issues that such a board considers and the environment in which it operates gave me greater confidence going in to the inverview. The advice on preparing for an interview in the resource section is also recommended - it ensured I felt really prepared."

Amanda Rendle, Director, Jaren Consulting Ltd, has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director at Tesco Bank.

Rosehanna Chowdhury, Senior Advisor, Cabinet Office, has been appointed as a Governor at the London School of Economics. "WOB is a fantastic initiative and a great source of inspiration for more women to lean in!"

Beverley Walker, Managing Director, BlueWind Consulting Ltd, has been appointed as a Trustee of Arran EcoSavvy Community. "I was offered this position as a result of my volunteer contributions to this charity. If it hadn't been for attending WOB seminars, I might have accepted blindly - being flattered by the offer;or not knowing what it meant, been too nervous to accept. However I was able to step into this role with confidence afer training with WOB because a) I knew what the role and responsibilites of a Trustee entailed, and b) I was able to read all documentation/accounts/minutes etc and actually knew what I needed to be looking for. Julie Clay, Freelance PR & Marketing Consultant, Julie Clay Consulting Ltd, has been appointed as a Trustee of Citizens Advice Milton Keynes. "The advice from the WoB training day was invaluable. Especially in terms of tapping into informal networks. Without doing that I wouldn't have even know about the opportunity let alone having been recommended to them. So thanks very much."

Rebecca Joyce, has been appointed as an Independent Trustee on the Board of Trustees of IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health), as well as becoming a member of the Finance Committee. "I found the opportunity advertised on the WOB website and the Getting Started workshop was a very good source of information and helped me focus my approach. Rowena was very helpful in providing me with tips on interview techniques and I found some contacts on the "On Board" page who were able to give me some useful insights into organisations similar to IOSH which helped me with the presentation that I was required to make and with the types of questions that I should ask at interview."

Valerie Robert, previously Chief HR Officer, Archroma, has been elected onto the Global Board of Directors of the International Coach Federation (ICF) commencing January 2017. "I am thrilled with this opportunity to contribute to an organization that shares my personal passion. I want to thank Rowena for her guiding me during the selection process."

Alison Chan, a Clifford Chance banking and finance lawyer, has been appointed as a Trustee of the Alexandra Rose Charity, a charity tackling food poverty and healthy eating. "I've been keeping a close eye on listings on WOB for some time and was thrilled when this opportunity to get involved in something I'm passionate about came up. Fiona and Rowena offered great suggestions on my cover letter and NED CV and the rest came down to my experience and interests filling a gap in the current board."

Caitriona Whelan, Head of Compliance & Controls - Payments, RBS, has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director on the board of Payments Administration UK. "As a member of WOB I was inspired to pursue a NED position with a greater degree of confidence."

Susan Speller, Director, R&D IT, GSK, has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director at Anglian Learning Trust. "WOB provided valuable training and networking opportunities to support me in my Non Exec journey and I will be looking for more as my journey continues."

Maria Darby-Walker, NED and Communications Director, has been appointed to the Board of Trustees at The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health. "Fiona and the team at Women on Boards gave me the energy and get up and go to build a portfolio; their support is invaluable."

Chloe Targett-Adams, Senior Counsel, Formula One Group, has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director at Snowsport England.

Amanda Calvert, Founder and CEO, Quince Consultancy, has been appointed to the group board of The Guinness Partnership Limited, the sixth largest Housing Association in England. "WoB has given me inspiration, support and confidence to apply for a bigger role having started on my NED journey a couple of years ago. Thank you."

Amy Jackson, Director, Oxtale Ltd, has been appointed as a Trustee of The Royal Forestry Society, a role she sourced via the WOB Vacancy Board. "Thank you for the training I attended and for advertising these roles."

Sue Hall, NED at Yorkshire Housing, has been appointed as a NED and member of the Audit and Risk Assurance Committee at the Valuation Office Agency.

Katie Kapernaros, Director, IBM, has been appointed as a Trustee of Smart Works Reading. "I joined WoB last year and I was successful in getting this role, sourced via the WOB Vacancy Board, a few months ago. The articles, webinars and briefings have been so useful in helping me frame my plans for future portfolio roles."

Yvonne Lumley, Director, people-factors, has been appointed to the Alumni Advisory Board at Loughborough University.

Beth Murray, External Affairs Director at social business Catch 22, has joined the board of The Nominet Trust, the social tech funder, as a Trustee. Beth sourced this role via the WOB Vacancy Board.

Joanne Theodoulou, former General Counsel, NetOTC, has been appointed as a Member of Mind's Council of Management. "Thank you for your encouragement and support along the way."

Julie Currie, Chief Financial and Operating Officer, Lloyd's Bank Foundationhas been appointed as a Non-Executive Director on the newly formed Department for International Trade board, under Liam Fox and she has also become Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee. Julie sourced this role via the WOB Vacancy Board and the role was highlighted in WoB's weekly email. "WoB has been hugely influential in this outcome, from the first Realising your Board Potential session circa 18 months ago, to your invitations to C Suite events and finally to the nomination as one of Cranfield's Top 100."

Mary Davies, Economic Consultant and Director of Economic Policy Associates Ltd, joined the Board of Breast Cancer UK (BCUK) as a Trustee and Director in July 2016. Mary has recently taken on the role of Deputy Chair of BCUK.

Irena Postlova, Senior Adviser, EBRD, has been appointed as an elected Trustee of The Downlands Trust. "Thanks for your help in exploring the range and nature of roles available, and in preparing a non-executive CV."

Annette Pendry, Consulting Director, Oracle, has been appointed as a Trustee of Smart Works Reading. "Thanks to WoB for the workshop at Oracle."

Marcia Cantor-Grable, Group Risk, Director, Prudential plc, has been appointed as a Lay Member on the Regulation Board of the IFoA (Institute and Faculty of Actuaries) with effect from 9 November 16. "I found this role via the WoB website where, intermittently, I had been looking for a regulatory linked role in financial services in areas covering my interests. I encourage anyone to keep checking the postings - you never know what you might come across."

Sue Gallone, has been appointed as a Trustee and Chair of the Finance and Investment Committee at Breast Cancer Now. "I found lots of roles of interest on the WOB Vacancy Board and thank you for the invaluable advice about making the change to a non-executive CV."

Roisin Donnelly, former Procter & Gamble CMO, has joined Bourne Leisure and Just Eat as a Non-Executive Director.

Claire Misata, Senior Relationship Manager, BNP Paribas Securities Services has been appointed to the Fundraising Committee of the charity Making the Leap.

Elizabeth Sipiere, has been appointed to the board of Brady plc as a Non-Executive Director. WOB introduced Elizabeth to Hanover Fox, the executive search firm handling this position.

Joanna Dennis, Director and Owner, Rosemary Bookkeeping, has been appointed to the board of Home-Start UK as a Trustee. "Thanks WOB UK for inspiring me to apply."

Brigid Sutcliffe, has been appointed to three new roles this year: Audit Chair and Non-Executive Director of the National Physical Laboratory, the same role at BRE Group and Chair of CDS Co-operatives, a housing association. "I found two of my three new roles on the WOB Vacancy Board, which for me, is an invaluable resource for capturing the publicly available NED positions in one place."

Elspeth Hendry, Programme Manager, Business in the Community Scotland, has been appointed Board Director of East Ayrshire Womens Aid (EAWA). "My application to the EAWA board and membership to Women on Boards happened in parallel. Whilst my first board application was being considered fortuitous timing meant I immediately benefitted from the foundation training provided in Edinburgh by WOB, gained experience and support as I applied for other board positions and made new contacts with like minded individuals."

Jenny Arnold, Solicitor, Family Unit, Ward Hadaway, has recently been appointed to the Board of Oldham Sixth Form College as a Governor. Jenny felt inspired to apply for this role after attending a WOB Boardroom Conversation event.
