Women on Boards provides a strong advocacy voice across a range of major policy issues impacting women's capacity to lead. These include:

  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Universal Child Care
  • Measures to encouage organisations to adopt 40:40:20 targets for gender balanced boards
  • Equity in pay and retirement savings for women
     

Gender lens on the budget

Each year the National Foundation for Australian Women (NFAW) conducts a careful, expert, non-partisan analysis of the Federal Budget and makes recommendations across a range of policy areas – workplace relations, health, education, housing, domestic violence, taxation, superannuation and more, as well as some related to machinery of government and data.

Gender Balance in Global Sport

In 2014 Women on Boards authored the inaugural Gender Balance in Global Sport Report, which was subsequently updated in 2016.

Committees and Coalitions

Women on Boards works with a range of organisations and informal groups to maximise its contribution to policy development.

Paid Parental Leave

Women on Boards was part of the coalition of women that lobbied for Paid Parental Leave in  2014 and then made submissions to the Senate reivew in 2016.  There is still some way to go on PPL and WOB advocates the following changes be made to the legislation:
